Communication Channels

TeamSpeak, Discord, staff, and staying in the loop.

Everyone is at the LAN, but most communication happens online.

TeamSpeak 3 (Voice)

The primary place for voice chat.

  • Address: Find the address at servers.ctrl-alt-gg.hu.
  • Why? Because it’s local, zero lag, and saves internet bandwidth.
  • Tip: Push-to-Talk is best practice!

Discord (Text)

This is the central hub for text info. If you’re not on it, you’re missing out.

  • Important Channels:
    • #announcements: Official announcements (tournament starts, food orders, power outage info).
    • #arriva-bt: You land here when you join - it’s the default channel.
    • #general: General chat.
    • #offtopic: Anything not strictly LAN-related.
    • #highlights: Funny pictures and gaming highlights.
    • #support: Forum-type channel where you can ask for support about anything.
    • #minecraft-chat: Chat with in-game players, linked to the Minecraft server.

Staff

If you need personal assistance, look for the organizers.

  • Identification:
    • On Discord: They have a distinct “Staff” or “Admin” role and color.
    • In Person: They wear staff t-shirts or distinctive lanyards.
  • When to contact them?
    • Network failure.
    • Power issues.
    • Conflict or harassment.
    • Accidents or injuries.

PA System (Loudspeaker)

We use it rarely, but if you hear it, listen up. It’s usually for emergencies or very important public announcements (e.g., “Finals starting on stage!”).
